USAAF pilot Capt. Harvey Elling with his P-40 Warhawk "Nightmare" somewhere in China in 1942 after the original AVG Flying Tigers were re-formed with Gen. Claire Chennault once again commanding the Tigers. Capt. Elling is my wife's father. He would retire from the USAF and would go on to train many, many future pilots at AFB Laredo, TX. When he passed away at age 93 in Sept. 2013, he as the last surviving Flying Tiger pilot who actually served in WWII.
