Boeing 737-800 (N548AS)
Flashback 2010 ~~
ASA's excellent reverse-livery special paint on Runway 12R.
Sadly, it turned out that this special paint was doomed and Alaska reversed the reverse livery to eliminate the two main disadvantages of it. But it sure 'nuff looked great!
Comments
I only saw this livery twice; the only actual captures I got of it were here.
A+ for sneaking into my "turf" for 40 years airline pic area ( JK) I was the 1st airline photog to use the new long term lot in the background - that area long a strawberry field for the local SJC farmer that held on as long as they could....great snapper here Gman and it would have been cool if I was up there that day you stopped by..but alas, 2008 I had moved north a bit...
Great shot and history Gary! I loved this livery on Alaska - looked very sharp!
Alien, I've only done spotting at SJC three times. But, I'd definitely enjoy making a 4th trip there. I'm not too knowledgeable of the spotting positions there - the only one I really ever went to was where I clicked this pic from - top deck and northwest corner of the lot.
Darryl, this certainly was a super livery. I understand why ASA went thumbs down on renewing it but I wish they would do one like this again.
