SOFIA shares this home with NASA's DC-8 atmospheric research aircraft, as well as their converted U-2s, and some others. The hangar was big enough that in a past life, after being the assembly building for the B-1, it was used to film parts of the movie "The Terminal" with Tom Hanks.
