Avro Avroliner (RJ-85) (C-GVFK)
Conair Aviation (C-GVFK) Avro RJ85 taxiing at RAAF Base Richmond, arriving back from Coffs Harbour.
Comments
This is a very plane to fly in. SAAirlink use to fly them to the Nelspruit Kruger National airport although the Embraer E-170 and E-190's have taken over now.
commendable example of re-cycled technology by this Canadian company. Application of the Australian flags on nacelles is indeed, a nice touch.
And I thought CONAIR was just a Nick Cage movie.
Is it me, or does that plane have an uncanny resemblance to the BAE 146? I used to see those with PSA Airlines back in the 70s.
What is the red discoloration streaming along the belly?
The RJ-85 is based on the BAE-146 airframe.
Conair is an aerial tanker company and does not transport prisoners.
The red on the belly is from fire retardant, notice the large bulge in the mid-point of the fuselage for the retardant tank.
