A great shot of a very beautiful old (modified, of course) aircraft. I love the paint job! I wonder what the range is with those turbo-prop engines?
Paul Wisgerhof
According to Bassler, the range of the BT-67 is 1093 miles with full fuel. Varies with payload, of course.

Looks like a modified DC-3 to turbo prop. Can't figure out the tail though. Makes sense since jet fuel is more readily available than Av Gas.

@ George Hill - my guess is that it is representative of an arctic tern. A bird often seen in the arctic and antarctic.
Fred Ogden
This bird is really beautiful and obviously loved. I wonder how much the turboprops increase the cruise speed?

When I was in Antarctica in 2010 Ken Borek provided contract flight services for research projects at McMurdo station with turboprops. Not sure the type, but it wasn't DC-3's.

They'll still be around and looking good when they're 100! Great shot!
