Whose aircraft carrier would it be landing on? I didn't know Switzerland had a navy? lol

A F-18 air force base where I lived has six arrestor cables. I guess it is really an aircraft carrier.

Boeing F/A-18C Hornet: J-5001 - J-5026 (single seater)
Boeing F/A-18D Hornet: J-5231 - J-5238 (double seater)

Michael & John: we really have a small navy on the lakes! But no carriers... but the runways of our airforce are equipped with arrestor cables.

... as the German airforce also use on their airfields @Suomi62 as a emergency break.

Thanks Wolfgang. I always thought that Germany has enough space for long enough runways. Unlike us.
But it's better to have some arrestor cables than a big net at the end of the runway, less repairs...
