The FBO boss/owner of TAIL WINDS Flight Service at KSUE has a Yugoslavian made Yak that he uses to fly up to Sturgeon Bay from Austin Straubel International Airport. Green Bay, Wisconsin ... GRB.
That particular aircraft is painted gloss black with a matching pilot helment sporting a red star on it as well as the vertical stab. Of interest is the extra long landing gear that can not fold fully into the wings as they are designed for rough field operations requiring long strokes. I's Luv's that all the instruments are in Russian and the 9 cylinder engine has tiny little bores with individual cooling fins moving similar to an aperture on a camera. The engine sound is magnificent on fast-low-flybys.
