CURTISS Commando (N1837M)
Comments
Please post more photos of this beautiful plane.
Same aircraft, different shot. Very appropriate given the rare occasion to view this workhorse.
And we don't need to read your same complaints
There's an angle of the C-46 you rarely see.
Think how old this thing must be, yet it's still delivering the goods. Built to last.
How many newer aircraft could claim that?

Favorite Pic this week..........
Nice job King !
Nice job King !
Wonder if she might have flown for Universal out of YIP back in the early 70’s? The cargo door width looks a bit familiar. Oh, and Doug, you don’t have to look.
I'm with Rick_D; it gets tiresome to see the NAY SAYER'S comments and no postings or positive comments -- Hey, this AINT no social platform kids
I think Doug was being ironical
Also looks photoshopped. Aircraft is probably parked with all three wheels on the ground. Then, superimposed on a shot of some runway. See previous photo and remarks by Colin.
Same deal here, high shutter speed on camera freezes props.
I service this aircraft for fuel and it flies almost every day. No photoshop here. It is on the ground today for maintenance today.
Pretty obvious from this shot that 1837M is still flying.
You can clearly see the pilot in this shot . . . .
Another fantastic photo!
Can almost here the power of the engines!

Another great shot of a great rare bird!
Ya don't see a C46 in the air very often ! great photo! Got more?
Doug always "on duty" with vital info on what HE doesn't "need." Nice to know.
Wow..there goes Doug Irvin counting other people's photo's again. I am with most everyone else on this thread. PLEASE King, Post every pic in the sequence for no other reason than to give Doug something to do. That just might short circuit him. Great shot by the way! Love the C46!
FA can show it a hundred times & it would still look beautiful. We should appreciate it (& other older Classic aircraft) while it is around & still able to take to the air.
Years from now, we will appreciate photos of 747 passenger aircraft after ‘The Queen of the Skies’ sadly no longer carries paying passengers. Wonder if Doug & his kind will complain abt those photos, only time will tell?
If they are not happy, then maybe they should scroll on by, not bothering to comment & leaving their thoughts to themselves.

We all know that Doug is ... Doug. IMO Don't dignify him with any reply whatsoever!
Doubtful he knows the vital mission of the C-46 or the AVG. We ain't interested in Doug's opion ... on almost and subject!!
I have a classmate who's father flew the 'Hump' and there are marvilous stories to be told on the C-46
