BOEING 727-200 (S9-BAV)
'm on the edge of the runway and the aircraft is landing. Most aerodromes in Angola have contaminated and unprepared runways, so the great advantage of the 727 to have the engines in the tail.
Comments
The FOD issue definitely reduced on the 727 on unmade surfaces.
Not to sure about the guy taking the pic though.!!
Starboard wingtip whizzing past in close proximity. That’s Africa I guess.

I flew 717 & DC9's. In the 1980's Cargo Business we landed even on Highways, Grass Fields. And in Texas we would land on Areas of Caliche Gravel. Very weak and DUSTY... Those Aircraft were real Heros of the Low Budget Jet Cargo Era!
It looks like it, but do you know if this bird has the 'Super 27' mod done to it? (Putting MD-80 motors in the 1 & 3 position.)
Wow!
FICON....5/5/5 dry compacted GRAVEL! 5 stars! Thanks Edwin! Cheers!!
