Aeromexico Flight Aborts Takeoff At LAX

What's the point? A news reader who knows only that airplanes fly reporting that a 73 had a blow out. From this piece of fascinating reporting I have no idea what the cause of the aborted take off was. Maybe it was the blow out or maybe that happened when the brakes were aggressively applied. This is an horrible report and unworthy of a FA presentation. Did the lg collapse first or the tire blow first? Even simple questions go unanswered.

Aero Mexico, who would have thought.

It happened in L.A. That's all that's required to make it newsworthy in today's mucked up media world.

So, the plane experienced a blown tire during the rejected takeoff procedure. Why did the crew reject the takeoff? The blown tire is no big deal. It is obviously preferable to a problem in the air.

Flight's landing gear collapses while trying to leave LA

LOS ANGELES -- A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman says a Mexico City-bound Aeromexico jet hit its brakes after the left landing gear collapsed while it was preparing to depart from a runway at Los Angeles International Airport but no injuries were reported.

FAA spokesman Allen Kenitzer says the passengers aboard Aeromexico Flight 18 were taken off the plane on the runway and bussed to the terminal early Saturday.

"The gear collapse caused damage to the left-side wing and Runway 25 Right. The aircraft is currently disabled on the runway," Kenitzer said in a statement, CBS Los Angeles reports.
