Pittsburgh International Airport has landed among a survey of the top 10 airports in North America for on-time departures.
The airport had an 85.84 percent on-time departure rate for 4,748 scheduled airline flights in October 2012, according to FlightStats.com. Only 221 (4.9 percent) of flights were late 15 to 29 minutes from the scheduled time of departure and 113 (2.5 percent) were between 30 and 44 minutes late. Pittsburgh had only 6.4 percent of flights that were late more than 44 minutes, and 4.7 percent of flights that were canceled, according to FlightStats.com.
Pittsburgh International Airport was No. 8 on the list and higher than the average of 81.62 percent for the top 10. Salt Lake City had the best on-time departure rate of 89.51 percent for its 9,724 flights in October 2012.
