Frontier Airlines plans to participate in TSA's PreCheck program by the end of August.

Frontier Airlines is joining the Transportation Security Administration's PreCheck program.

The TSA PreCheck program allows air travelers to cut their wait times in airport security lines after they clear a government background check.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Denver-based Frontier plans to participate in PreCheck by the end of August.

"TSA PreCheck is an expedited security screening program connecting travelers departing from airports within the United States with smarter security and a better air travel experience," the TSA said on its website.

Travelers in PreCheck don't have to remove their shoes, laptops, liquids, belts and jackets at screening checkpoints.

Other major air carriers at Denver International Airport participating in PreCheck include United, Delta, Alaska, American, and Southwest, according to the TSA.
