A 2pm Delta flight Tuesday from Philadelphia to Atlanta ended up sitting on the Knoxville tarmac for several hours after weather in Georgia prevented them landing.

Passengers, stuck on the plane for the duration, were pleasantly surprised when a baggage cart laden down with Pizza Hut chugged out from the airport and pulled up to their aircraft.
Passenger Khoury Ashooh, flying home with his wife and their four-year-old daughter, snapped some photos during the unexpected two-and-half hour layover.
'We circled in the air for a while then the captain said we were diverting to Knoxville because of storms over the airport in Atlanta,' he told DailyMail.com.

Instead of landing at Atlanta at 4, they landed in Knoxville, Tennessee, - where they sat for hours armed only with an iPad.
Until 'sitting on the tarmac, the captain orders pizza for the whole plane.'
His daughter loved the pizza - toppings included - and she wasn't the only happy flier.
'A fun passenger got up to help serve it. Pretty cool.'

In the end that Philadelphia flight landed in Atlanta shortly after 7 pm, three hours late.
And that flight wasn't alone by appealing to their passengers through their stomachs.
Delta flights from Ohio, Illinois and Mississippi also suffering delays were treated to similar pizza parties by the airline, according to passenger tweets.
As Atlanta is a hub for the airline,the city's inclement weather was especially hard on Delta flight schedules Tuesday.
